A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers technician opens floodgates at Canyon Dam on Thursday to raise the flow of the Guadalupe River. Flooding upstream of the lake caused the lake to run over its spillway after it reached the lake's maximum capacity of 943 feet above mean sea level.
